Intermediate 50/70 (Ages 11-13) - South Hill Little League Ground Rules
We follow the Little League Rule book and in the SHLL BY-LAWS unless stated in the following:
These are SHLL Ground Rules - If interlocking then District 10 follows LL, Int'l Tournament Rules
Rules will be played as stated. Managers are not permitted to agree to any rule changes and the umpires shall not allow any such changes.
1. All doubleheaders will be limited to 5 innings or 2.5 hours - whichever comes first.
2. 50/70 will interlock with other D10 50/70 teams.
3. D10 home games will be played at 50 foot pitching mound from home plate with 70 foot bases.
4. Teams bat the bench.
5. On Deck batters permitted.
6. Run Rules:
If after FOUR (4) innings, if the home team is ahead, one team has a lead of fifteen (15) runs or more, the manager of the team with the least runs shall concede the victory to the opponent.
If after FIVE (5) innings the home team is ahead, one team has a lead of eight (10) runs or more, the manager of the team with the least runs shall concede the victory to the opponent.
If after SIX (6) innings, the home team is ahead, one team has a lead of eight (8) runs or more, the manager of the team with the least runs shall concede the victory to the opponent.

7. No new inning after 2.30 hours of game start time
Misc Rules:
1. Tobacco products are not allowed and are forbidden on school grounds, any recreational fields and includes all playing fields at any practice or game - period. This applies to coaches, parents, and all volunteers and spectators. This rule is strictly enforced as violations of the No Tobacco Products rule can cause SHLL to forfeit school and recreational field permits.
2. Player's must wear a protective cup.
3. Catchers must wear throat guard in addition to catchers mask. NOTE: Hockey Style masks still must include throat guard.
4. There is NO end of season tournament in 50/70 Intermediate.
All other rules will follow LL BLUE Book - including those passed during the recent LL Congress.
Bats:
USA Baseball marking or BBCOR marking
2 5/8” barrel maximum
NOTE 1: Solid one-piece wood barrel bats do not require a USA Baseball logo.
NOTE 2: Also, permitted for the Intermediate (50-70) Division and Junior League Division are bats meeting the BBCOR performance standard, and so labeled with a silkscreen or other permanent certification mark. The certification mark shall be rectangular, a minimum of a half-inch on each side and located on the barrel of the bat in any contrasting color. Aluminum/alloy and composite bats shall be marked as to their material makeup being aluminum/alloy or composite. This marking shall be silkscreen or other permanent certification mark, a minimum of one-half-inch on each side, and located on the barrel of the bat in any contrasting color.
